The fifth workshop on Norms and Standards took place on July 13-17th, 2009 in Dnepropetrovsk at KB Yuzhnoye premises. The workshop was organized, hosted and opened by Mr Yuri Stryzhak, Head of the Standardization section at KB Yuzhnoye and Mr Wladimir Kurbatov, Director of the Centre for Rocket Space Standardization, in the Conference Room of KB Yuzhnoye.
Our experts, Mr Werner Kriedte from the European Space Agency (ESA), Mr Andre LaCroix from EADS Astrium Germany and Mr Joachim Klein from IABG Company Germany, were in charge of this workshop. Mr Lev Semenov, head of section of Orbital complexes and certification of Rocket and Space techniques of NSAU led the Ukrainian team. The workshop was attended by 30 specialists in Standardization from various companies, including KB Yuzhnoye and Yuzhmash.

A one-day seminar on new Management principles was delivered to the NSAU top management on July 8th, 2009. It was handled by our two short term experts Jean Planet, director of Jean Planet consulting cabinet, and Dr Erica Battistone, mission director at Sodie consulting Cabinet, and gathered all NSAU top managers, from General Director, his deputies, his advisers to all department directors (roughly 24-25 managers). The seminar was opened by Mr Oleksandr Zinchenko, General Director.

The purpose of this seminar was to propose a different concept of management of human ressources and a way to manage the necessary structuring and personnel changes, from a vertical hierarchial structure to a qualificative and delegative structure.

The sixth Steering Committee meeting was held at the National Space Control and Testing Center at Evpatoria on June 26th, 2009. This location was selected in order to allow the Steering Committee to assess the interest and the potential of this Space Control Center for European projects (Galileo and GMES). A detailed visit of the Center facilities was organized on the afternoon and led by Mr Gusev, deputy director of the Center.
The meeting was opened by Mr Eduard Kuznietsov, Ukrainian project leader and NSAU deputy general director. MM Pierre Frisch, and Wolf Günther, State members project leaders, respectively for France (CNES) and Germany (BMWi) participated to the meeting, as well as Rainer Scharenberg, coordinator for German short term experts. Mr Grigorios Kontzoglou, project manager represented the European Delegation, Mrs Tetyana Kovtun, director, represented the Public Administration office (PAO) and Dr Janos Zakonyi and Mrs Tetyana Gaidarenko, respectively team leader and coordinator, represented the ITO project. Mrs Andrea Donath and Mr Leonardo Rasulo from GTZ (German financial assistance) as well as local project members, the RTA, Andre Moussine-Pouchkine, his Ukrainian counterpart, Alexander Melashenko and the RTA assistant, Mrs Inna Martin completed the attendance. Representatives of the Space Control Center, Mr Sergiy Gusev and Mr Alexander Goudich, respectively deputy director and head of international affairs and Mr Jean-Claude Courteille from CNES, potentially replacing Mr Frisch as senior project leader, were invited to attend the meeting.

NSAU General Director, Mr Alexander Zinchenko, and Deputy General Director, Mr Eduard Kuznietsov, met with Heads of leading European Space agencies during the Bourget exhibition on June 15-17th, 2009.
Discussions took place successively with Mr Jean-Jacques Dordain, General Director of the European Space Agency (ESA), with Pr Johan-Dietrich Wörner, President of the Board of the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) and with Mr Yannick d’Escatha, President and General Director of the French Space Agency (CNES).

The fourth workshop/seminar on the 7th Framework program (FP7) took place at NSAU on May 19-20th, 2009. It was opened by Mr Eduard Kuznietsov, NSAU Deputy General Director and Twinning project leader.
This workshop is the first one of a second serie of two workshops set up to prepare the 3rd FP7 Space call to be issued by end of July 2009. It was handled by three Twinning experts, Celine Bouhey-Klapicz, space contact point at the French Space Agency (CNES), Claudia Lindberg, space contact point at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) and Paul Jamet, coordinator for contact points in France at the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research. The participation (over 30 persons from different organisations, institutions and enterprises) was extremely active and one can measure the evolution of the Ukrainian side in terms of participation, preparation and general knowledge about FP7.
